Important Message from the Superintendent

Researchers from University of Idaho will be visiting our school this semester to meet with high school students to find out more about the issues adolescents in Idaho are facing in regard to physical and mental well-being. They will be asking a random selection of students who turn in a signed parental consent to complete anonymous questionnaires about diet, sport participation, mood, anxiety, and stigma around mental health. More sensitive questions your child may be asked include trauma, substance use, suicidal and self-harm thoughts/behaviors. If you choose to have your child participate, he or she will be provided with health resources and referred to the counselor if participation results in any discomfort. The data collected will all be anonymous and not associated with your child’s identity. It will be aggregated with data throughout our school to help inform superintendent, principal, school counselor, coaches, and teachers about issues our students face. It will also be used by the UI researchers to apply for funding for future resources and interventions aimed at improving the physical and mental well-being of our students and students throughout Idaho. We appreciate your involvement as a parent in this study! Please follow the link below to provide an electronic parental consent for your high school student as well as for more detailed information about the study and who to contact if you have any questions.
