Dear Students, Parents and Guardians, and Community Patrons,
Last evening, I presented our Board of Trustees with my Letter of Resignation, effective on July 1, 2021, as the superintendent for our district. I have thoroughly enjoyed my years as superintendent and the decision to resign was not an easy one to make. I have spent forty (40) years in Education – ten years as superintendent here; as well as three years as director of Special Education from 1998-2001. I am extremely pleased with the quality of programs and services we have been able to provide students over those years, as well as the positive, consistent growth we have shown in that time.
I have been fortunate and blessed to have worked with so many wonderful people over the years dedicated to the success of our students – teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, cooks, bus drivers, secretaries, support personnel, coaches, advisors, department supervisors, district office support, administration, and school board members. I thank you all for your service and dedication to our students and to the District.
Most importantly, my thanks to the Potlatch community for being supportive of my leadership and guidance these past ten years. The road was not, and isn’t, always an easy one. Certainly, there have been, and continue to be, ups and down, potholes in the road, and obstacles always in the way. But the community has always rallied when the District has needed support to move forward or overcome a difficult situation. I am extremely proud of the work that has been done and the support that we have received over my years in the District. So, thank you, one and all!
Jeffrey A. Cirka, Superintendent
